Goon Bones by Ted ‘Mr. Goon-Bones’ Goon

In a telephone interview, Ted told RBS the secret of his rhythm bones, something he had never revealed before. “I started experimenting with types of things, woods, plastics, rosewood, and checking the things with professional sound equipment until I had something recordable. It happened to be maple wood from a particular section of Wisconsin.  I started making those and selling them as a hobby.  I saw it was going to be a market though I didn’t make any money on them because I couldn’t make them cheap enough to make a profit. Still it was a valuable part of the experiment.
