03 Oct Did Neanderthals Play Rhythm Bones?
I ran across an interesting website that talked about the discovery of a Neanderthal flute that is 60,000 years old making it the oldest flute ever discovered. I don’t have the background to dispute this claim, but if it be true the flute is a much more sophisticated instrument than rhythm bones because of the placement and drilling of holes. Since we all respond to rhythm, I’m thinking it is possible Neanderthals played the simpler rhythm bones. Steve Wixson
